Childbirth Educators Multidiscipline Certificate Program The Childbirth Educators Multidiscipline Certificate Program is a unique, four level, part-time program. As the only Childbirth Educators Certificate Program in Canada approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, this unique partnership has attracted students from diverse backgrounds who have gone on to serve their communities in a variety of ways. Established in 1986, the program is a collaborative effort between the Childbirth and Family Life Preparation Department of Sunnybrook and Women's College Health Sciences Centre and the Humber College School of Health Sciences. The program prepares childbirth educators to offer appropriate and effective childbirth education. Individuals enrolled in the program will be taught skills in group facilitation, cooperative learning and experiential teaching techniqes that appeal to women in various social contexts. Many courses are available through distance learning. Groups of 20 or more can request that a satellite program be organized.
